Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Center for Research and Education in Special Environments in the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo is recruiting for a Postdoctoral Fellow with interest in one or more of the following fields: undersea and hyperbaric medicine, environmental physiology, gravity or exercise physiology. This is a three year Office of Naval Research funded fellowship. The successful candidate must have a Medical Degree or Ph.D. or equivalent. CRESE is a grant supported multidisciplinary, officially recognized University Organized Research Center. The major facilities include a human-rated hyperbaric/hypobaric chamber, animal/cell hyperbaric chambers, human centrifuge, climatic chamber, and annular swimming pool. Additionally, there are exercise, biochemistry, animal surgery and open laboratories and offices. The position will be available in the fall of 2008 and the salary is dependent upon qualifications. Hyperbaric fellows work in the Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Environmental Physiology, an integral part of Duke University Medical Center. Two fellowship slots are available each year. Applicants must be eligible for licensure as a trainee in the state of North Carolina and they must have completed an ACGME certified residency program and be board eligible in their specialty. The fellowship is highly competitive and the training is designed to prepare the fellow to become a leader in the field of Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine through the development of clinical competence and research expertise.

Hyperbaric Medicine/Wound Care Fellow
A one-year fellowship in clinical wound care and hyperbaric medicine is available at Hartford Hospital. Hartford Hospital houses the largest multi-place hyperbaric oxygen chamber in New England and supports The Center for Wound Healing. The program meets all requirements for residency education, as stipulated by the Graduate Medical Education Directory 2003-2004, page 321.
The Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Program is associated with the ACGME accredited residency training programs in Surgery and Emergency Medicine. The program is a part of the Emergency Medicine/Trauma Program, which is responsible for training fellows in Trauma Surgery and research. The Fellowship is open to any physician eligible for credentialing through the Connecticut State Medical Board of Examiners, is actively enrolled in an approved residency-training program in the United States and is either board certified or board eligible in a recognized medical specialty as approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
The Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Fellow will be involved in all aspects of care delivered within our center, ranging from providing outpatient wound care, to phone consultations requesting hyperbaric oxygen therapy, to providing emergent and critical care for patients receiving hyperbaric oxygen therapy. There is ample opportunity to extend beyond one year in associated fellowships in Trauma, Critical Care and/or Research.

Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Fellowship
The Hennepin County Medical Center Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Fellowship is an ACGME accredited one year program in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine whose graduates will fulfill the requirements to sit for the American Board of Medical Specialists' certification examination for special competency in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine. We are now taking applications for the 2008-2009 academic year. The Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Healing Service at Palmetto Health Richland/ University of South Carolina School of Medicine invites applications for a one-year fellowship. As a primary teaching institution for the USC School of Medicine, the hospital serves as a Level 1 Trauma Center and hosts 16 fellowship and residency programs. Access to basic science experts is available through the University of South Carolina and an animal hyperbaric facility is in place at the USC Department of Surgery research laboratory. The hyperbaric program serves as a major international training resource. Nationally, some 60% of all new hyperbaric consultants receive training through our 40-hour course, titled Primary Training in Hyperbaric Medicine. This course also attracts attendance from throughout the world. In addition, the program hosts an annual advanced training seminar in hyperbaric medicine. This seminar likewise draws an international audience and leading clinical and basic scientists who serve as faculty.
